A BEAUTIFUL GIFT FOR MATT
FROM HIS UNCLE JACK & UNCLE JAMES
MATTHEW WAS THE ONLY GRANDSON AND NEPHEW IN OUR FAMILY.  WHEN I CALLED TO TELL THEM "THANK YOU" FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL GIFT.
I WAS TOLD "I AM HAPPY THAT YOU LIKE IT BUT THIS SPECAIL GIFT IS ONLY BETWEEN MATT AND UNCLE JACK". THEY SAID FOR YOU ONLY THE BEST.  IN THE CEMETARY WHERE YOU REST THERE IS NOT ANOTHER LIKE THIS.  JUST LIKE YOU IT'S DIFFERENT AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ONE THERE.

The Matthew Mullis Foundation (A Sister's Love for the Brother she now misses so much)

Matthew's sister Jennifer has started in her brother’s memory
"The Matthew Mullis Memorial Foundation"

Allow me to introduce my self I am Jennifer R. Mattingly, the proud but sadden sister of Matthew K. Mullis. Matthew was my only brother even though there were seven years between our ages there was no space between the love we shared and the bond that will forever bind us together. I lost my brother in a tragic automobile accident on November 11, 2006 only two miles from the home in which we as children had grown up. Matthew was a senior in High School and an honor roll student for the first time in his life. At the age of nineteen my brother was becoming quite a wonderful young man.

I have heard many times in my life that a mans worth is measured by the number of friends he has; well allow me to say that if this is true my brothers worth is immeasurable. There were over 1,014 students from Newnan High, Northgate High, Central Education Center, East Coweta High, and the CEC Night School that attended and signed the registry book provided by McKoons Funeral Home.

After much thought and the weight of the heavy pain left from losing my dearly loved brother. I decided to do all that I could to hopefully help prevent the next family from having to suffer they way I now have been left to watch my family suffer. My first course of work began forming a non profit organization which is known now as “The Matthew Mullis Memorial Foundation”. My second course of work was to find the right organization with proven static’s on educating not only our youth but our parents. After much research I have decided to assist in providing as much assistance as possible to bringing the P.R.I.D.E. (Parents Reducing Incidents of Driver Error) to our youth and parents here in Coweta County. For further information regarding the P.R.I.D.E. program you may do so at http://extension.caes.uga.edu/gtipi/templates/teenpride.htm or by contacting our local Sheriffs Office. Please join me in educating our children and parents in reducing incidents of Driver Errors.

“Please don’t let the next knock be at your door”.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Mattingly

Matt's Dog

Petey
Since the day he would no longer have his Neesa he would cry for a dog. I would allow him 3 more dogs but when our neighbors continued to run them down in our yard; I would finally come to the conclusion we were just not meant to have a dog. Paul Matt's step-dad has really bad allergies and is allergic to animal hair so even with Matt's continued pleas the answer was just No. Then one day he comes home and says Hannah's dad Greg has decided Matt can finally have a dog and he can keep him at Hannah's house. He loves this dog it's all he talks about. Mom when you see my Petey you’re going to beg me to bring him home. Matt even taught him how to shake. If you listen to the video you will hear Matt talking to Petey. I finally got to see Matt's Petey and he was so right he was beautiful and Greg has him so spoiled with love. Hannah’s dad Greg became such and important Man in Matt's life, he really loved him, and respected his guidance. Greg was also teaching Matt how to play the guitar. He bought Matt his first real hunting knife, and taught him how to dear hunt for the very first time. I guess that's why Greg has been blessed with Matt's memory of love for this beautiful dog. I know for as long as Petey will live Greg and Nancy will remember as I always will the presence of my Loving Son.

I Miss You!

They say memories are golden,
Well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you...

In The Field across the Road

She is awakened by the sound of thunder, a rumble that shakes her foundation. She feels a sense of fear come over her as she tries to gather her thoughts. Her instincts tell her to stay inside where it is safe, but with her heart pounding, she is drawn to the door.

She cautiously opens the door and in an instant, lighting strikes.
The white hot heat plunges straight through her heart.
A flash of light so bright, so hot that it takes her breath.
Unable to withstand the pain, she is driven to the ground.

Convinced she has lost her life, she prays for God to give her the strength to pull herself up. Slowly as she regains consciousness, she realizes that she has lost her sight. What was once a life filled with colors is now seen through her eyes as only, murky grays and harsh black and white.

As days go by, with no comprehension of why, she finds herself in a field across the road. It is filled with flowers. Little bouquets placed ever so carefully, as if for a reason. But all she can see is a dull landscape of black and white.

She wonders if she will ever see anything bright and colorful again in her life, she wanders aimlessly through the field. As she walks along, there under the big pine tree, she finds what she had been searching for. That what had been lost. Among the rows of colorless pail flowers she sees, one bouquet. In all it’s glory, as if the heavens had opened up. One bouquet so bright, so brilliant, so colorful.

This is where she was meant to be. The one thing she longs for. Everything else in her life remains dark, except for the one brilliant, colorful bouquet in the field across the road.

Now she visits everyday, life’s one colorful spot. Like a school girl, she waits for tomorrow. One more chance to see her beautiful bouquet, in the field across the road.
